She is a nonprofit organizer passionate about how individual identities and communal narratives intersect to create tension-filled stories that weave us all together.
Mary is an enthusiastic member of the ELI Talks team. She particularly enjoys helping speakers to develop their “inspired Jewish ideas” and ELI to construct even better systems to execute its vision. After a career in the food world, Mary transitioned to nonprofits as the Director of Operations and Rosh Bet Midrash at SVARA in Chicago. She has taught and been part of the behind-the-scenes operations at many of Chicago's most dynamic Jewish communities and has spearheaded award-winning collaborations between them.
Mary loves to learn Talmud and bring homemade challah to the office from her home in Lakeview where she lives with her wife and their two dogs.
