Video Fundraising: Personalization Increases Donations

The problem with walkathons is that some walkers raise a lot of money, while others raise
no money at all.   American Cancer Society needed a way to encourage and empower their
Making Strides walkers to raise funds among their networks.  Working with Charity Dynamics, See3 created a personalized online video campaign on Convio in which every walker received a link to a pre-personalized video soliciting others to support that walker.  This video could then easily be shared and sent to family and friends who would be moved and encouraged to donate to the cause. 

Our Impact

The personalized fundraising video exceeding all expectations, resulting in over 100,000 views and over 50,000 shares across email, Facebook, and Twitter.  American Cancer Society recouped their investment in the first 10 days of the campaign, and raised 10 times more money than it cost to produce.  It is considered a huge success in the nonprofit technology community, and we continue to develop innovative ways to leverage personalization and video to raise money.
