The Full Power of the Web for the Jewish Community
Darim Online, the leading provider of digital media training and professional development to Jewish communal organizations has merged with See3 Communications, a Chicago-based agency helping nonprofit organizations succeed online. Darim’s Founder and President, Lisa Colton, is now Chief Learning Officer at See3 and is expanding offerings to benefit the Jewish community.
“After having followed and admired See3’s work for many years, I am thrilled to be joining their amazing and talented team,” said Colton. “See3 has the infrastructure and expertise that enables us to expand our work in the Jewish community by increasing the depth and breadth of professional development, and offering a suite of implementation services to organizations that are ready to implement dynamic online efforts after training.”
Darim Online was founded by Colton in 2000 to support synagogues and other Jewish institutions as they began to understand the importance of internet technologies. Darim has brought its training and consultation services to Jewish community organizations through partnerships with The Covenant Foundation, The Union for Reform Judaism (URJ), UJA Federation of New York, The AVI CHAI Foundation, Jewish Education Project and others.
Its flagship Darim Social Media Boot Camp is a training program that combines webinars, private coaching and consulting with real-world actions to help organizations utilize social media to help achieve their mission and goals. Currently, their Boot Camp for Jewish Day Schools, The Jewish Day School Social Media Academy, is in its second year with support from The AVI CHAI Foundation.
Like Darim, See3 works extensively in the Jewish community. Their clients include The AVI CHAI Foundation, Foundation for Jewish Camp, Jewish Education Project, AVODAH: The Jewish Service Corp, AJWS, and many others. While See3 provides training and consultation, they also implement online initiatives for many of their clients, including website management and building apps, producing online videos and deploying strategies to help organizations move from theory to practice.
“The Jewish community increasingly understands how critical it is to become smart users of digital media. As a stand-alone organization we just didn’t have the capacity to fully serve all the increasing needs of organizations that need our help,” said Colton. “To fulfill our mission of helping Jewish organizations thrive in the digital age, we needed to expand our capacity and increase our expertise in core areas including video, search, campaign strategy. See3 is an obvious and natural partner for us.”
“To say that I am excited about this merger is an understatement,” said Michael Hoffman, CEO of See3. “Lisa Colton is a rock star. It is a privilege to have her on our team and to be able to work with her to advance the Jewish community’s use of online technologies. The Darim Social Media Boot Camp is a model for capacity building that we will see expand across the US. We are moving from strength to strength.”
